OOur second Beer Club took place on Twitter last night and it was all about stouts. Ben McFarland, a three time winner of the British Guild of Beer Writers’ Beer Writer of the year award, handled the Beer For That Twitter account for the night. We received hundreds of tweets from people keen to learn everything stout. You wanted to know the best food matches, the history, the variations, the characteristics, the glassware and, like the worm in a bottle of tequila, is there an actual oyster in some stouts? Ben had the answer to it all. Spoiler alert: unlike the worm in a bottle of tequila you won’t find a whole oyster in a bottle of stout.

Acclaimed writer Pete Brown took over the Beer For That Twitter account between 7pm and 8pm and we asked you to have your burning pale ale questions at the ready. You totally delivered. We received hundreds of tweets from around the globe enabling Pete to offer his expertise on pale ale history, food matches, characteristics, alternatives and much, much more.
